• "Sweat equity" labor of homeowner families. Instead of a cash down payment, potential homeowners give us 500 hours of labor per family. This sweat equity can be applied to the construction of their own home, the construction of homes for others, assisting on Restore activities, or other Habitat projects. This keeps the help and goodwill in circulation! Plus, future homeowners learn hands-on how to maintain and fix their homes!                         
   
• Sweat equity is a great way for low income families to own homes because in san diego the cost of living is skyrocketing and in awhile, people might have to start looking for a new place to live.

    El trabajo dulce de la equidad de familias de propietario. ¡En vez de un desembolso inicial del dinero efectivo, propietario potencial nos da 500 horas del trabajo por la familia. esta equidad dulce puede ser aplicada a la construcción de su propio hogar, el construcion de hogares para otros, ayudando en restaura las actividades, y otros proyectos del hábitat. esto mantiene la ayuda y la buena voluntad en la circulación! además, propietarios futuros aprenden práctico cómo mantener y fijar sus hogares!

    I myself Willie Gibson took part in the habitat for humanity program in 2005 in hopes of someday of owning my own home with my mother and two sisters. The sweat equity became very handy because my family was on section 8, which happens to be a step above well fair. The only catch was that we  to help other families build there houses and in return they would help us.

Yo Willie Gibson participe en el año 2005 en el programa de Habitat for Humanity; con la esperanza de un día llegar a ser dueño de mi propia casa junto como mi mama y dos hermanas. Sweet Equity represento un paso adelante ya que mi familia tiene actualmente sección 8, esto representa un paso adelante de ser personas de recursos modestos. Lo único que tenemos que hacer  es ayudar a otras personas a construir casas, así otras nos ayudaran a nosotros.

    Like Willie, I myself Amanda Flores took part in the organization Habitat for Humanity, in the year 2005. I did habitat with my sister Andrea and friend Shawna Spiva. it was planned through Shawna's church. We went all the way up to San Pasqual to bulid a house for Indians. Helping with nailing drywall and cleaning up the place. It took all day, but we accomplished alot. And we also had fun doing it. The organization Habitat for Humanity was a wonderful experience for me and let me give something to the community of San Pasqual. If given the chance I would definetly do it again.

 

Como Willie, Yo Amanda Flores tome parte en el  programa de Habitat for Humanity en el año 2005. Yo participe en hábitat junto con mí hermana Andrea y amiga, Shawna Spiva. Fue planeado por la Iglesia donde Shawna asiste. Nosotros fuimos as San Pascual para construir casas para indios. Ayudamos clavando y limpiando el lugar. Se llevo todo el día; pero hicimos mucho, y también nos divertimos. El programa Humanitas me dio una buena experiencia como la de ayudar a la comunidad de San Pascual. Si tuviera la
oportunidad definitivamente lo haría nuevamente.

Statistics:

 We anticipate building 8 to 12 homes a year over the next few years. We do not have an inventory of homes since we have more families seeking homes than are available.

 

Nosotros anticipamos de podemos construir en 8 y 10 casas por ano en los siguientes anos.  Nosotros no tenemos un inventario de casas, ya que tenemos mas familias buscando casa que las que actualmente tenemos.

Though you may want to take part in the habitat for humanity, there is a age requirement. For minors under the age of 16, they are not aloud to be in the construction site. If you are of the age of 16 and you have your parents sign a waiver, then you will be able to participate.

 

          Si usted desea participar y tomar parte en el programa Habitat for Humanity, ay una edad limite. Menores de 16 anos no esta permitido que estén en el área de construcción. Si tú tienes 16 anos y quieres participar, necesitas un forma con el consentimiento de tus padres entonces puedes participar.

 Minnesota Vikings defensive end Chuck Wiley, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Tim Dwight, defensive end Marcellus Wiley and former Chargers defensive back Scott Turner of the NFL all participated in the habitat for humanity program. Two of the players Tim Dwight and Chuck Wiley, helped build houses in South East San Diego.
